Default DIY Smoker

Thought this might interest some of the brethren.

This guy built one of the Alton Brown smokers, but added some electronic controls. I'm kind of an electronic nut so the controller is my main interest. I'd seen the AB smokers before just not with electronic controls.

I might have to add this to my project list. Below a UDS of course

Thanks for the link. That's a pretty cool hack. AB got me started. (Now i'm primarily playing with the UDS or one or two of a half a dozen webers...) But it's kinda fun to dig out here and there. This looks like a worthwhile upgrade.

I originally wanted to build an AB smoker after seeing that episode, but I went online and found a lot of other ideas and eventually decided that a UDS is probably more like what I'm looking for. All I need to find is a drum, then me and my $150 worth of Home Depot giftcards can get to work! lol

I too wanted to build an AB smoker, and almost did in the Spring.
But then I found out about a UDS, and am in the build process now.
Overall, AB is one cool dude with a cool show.
