This is probably a long shot but here goes. I am flying out to the Left coast for work and would like to find a decent place to eat. I will be staying in Santa Ana, the last time I was out there the best food I had was at a small Taco joint and had some good Langua(? spelling) tacos but no decent BBQ. Help please

Sorry mods, put this post in the wrong section. If possible please move to proper place.

Scott's in Orange is good for BBQ. El Ranchito is not bad for Mexican, and then there's Moreno's in Orange, and El Gallo Giro in Santa Ana is the real deal. Cappy's in Newport for breakfast or lunch is worth a stop, too.

My recommendation is to check out some good authentic Mexican and Asian food instead. I mean, there's gotta be TONS of great BBQ in GA, you'll most likley be disappointed by any BBQ in LA.

Sorry, I know it's not what you asked for. But here's what I would recommend

Lupe's Hot Dog Stand (they're actually famous for their burritos and believe it or not the bean and cheese is amazing!)

Daikokuya makes some awesome ramen and Japanese food. I've only ever been to the Little Tokyo location

King Taco is pretty awesome

^^^ I agree with kyle corn.

Also, try taco trucks.....especially in Santa Ana, you're probably find one in every street corner....you won't go hungry.

I appreciate it everyone. Last time I was out there it was for a month and I must say this country boy can only handle so much ethnic food before I have some sort of breakdown.

If you can get to one of the farmer's markets that Big Mista vend at, do it! Mista's BBQ is great!

I've never been to Bigmista's place, but I'd bet my arse that it'd stand up to any Q you're had before - and probably surpass it...of course, from his posts, Moose is quite the Q'er too. You've got two world class BBQers as Brethren there, no need to be disappointed.

I will throw in on this check out what farmers market Bigmista is serving at and make the trip.If you want good BBQ.

I will be in Long Beach tomarrow will give it a try provided it is open.

Scratch that, Maybe at the Farmers market on Thursday. Look foreward to it.

I don't know if you are still in LA, but Kansas City BBQ Company in North Hollywood has some of the best baby back ribs I have ever had. Their BBQ baked beans are also amazing. Everything is smoked on their industrial size machine. It is in a sketchy area but I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
