Default Bubba Keg BBQ Chicken PRON

The Bubba Keg can cook some really good chicken. Here are some chicken thighs I BBQ'd tonight. They were rubbed down with some BBQ rub and then put on the keg at about 275 F to 290 F (temp bounced around a little until I got it dialed in) and I used the diffuser to let them slow cook for about 45 - 50 minutes.

Then, I removed the diffuser and raised the temp to about 325 F and cooked them for about another 25 minutes turning them often.

I put the diffuser back in the keg and lowered the temp to around 300 F and cooked the thighs for about another 10 minutes.

I sauced them and cooked them for about another 15 minutes until the sauce turned into a glaze. They were tender and moist and very tasty.

Here they are setting the glaze. They are close together to make sure they were over the diffuser to prevent direct heat from burning the sugar in the sauce.

Here they are ready to eat. None were left over.

Nice mod on the diffuser. I was able to use the "official" diffuser for the first time yesterday when I made the MOINK fondue; it worked much better than all the other mods I've used so far.

Oh, and great looking birdie thighs there too. Well done!

I was one of the first to order it when they finally announced it on that other forum we aren't supposed to mention here. It showed up on Monday and I didn't get a chance to use it until yesterday. I'll be using it again tomorrow and post some first impressions and pics. PM me if you want info on where I ordered it and I'll go back through my records and find the link.
