Default DigiQ Install Help

I am wanting to install a DigiQ controller on a large Vertical smoker. My plan is to install a 1" steel pipe thru the bottom of the smoker directly under the fire basket (about 3" below the bottom of the grate), then run the pipe out and up the side of the smoker about 18" before installing the 10cfm blower.

My questions for someone familar with the product:
1) is it possible to install and seal the exhaust end of the blower into a 1" steel pipe?

2) is the blower heat resistant enough to withstand any heat that would build up inside the pipe.

any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I'd pose those questions to Bob at BBQ Guru.

I can tell you that my 10cfm Pit Viper blowers outlet measures 1.209" and the I.D. of 1" schedule 40 pipe is 1.049" so it wont fit without machining the pipe. Having the blowers out let directly under your fire basket may cause your pipe to fill up with ash and block air flow so X2 on the vent door.
