The organizers did an excellent job and were very helpful. It was really nice to have clean bathrooms and showers.

I have a couple of photos to share. Even after all of the damage and rain I had a great time and am extremely happy to have made the top ten with such a great field.
Special thanks to everyone that offered to help me after all my gear was either soaked or ruined. I had a brethren (can't remember his name) from Holland stop in and offer to help me clean up and the ladies from Aww Hell kept checking in and offering assistance. This photo was taken after "the storm from hell". You can probably tell where my canopy was before it flew away. The drums and cambro never moved but the wsm was knocked over.  This is my neighbor Aww Hell BBQ. They were kind enough to attempt to recover my ez up but only the sides were salvageable.  You can see here the damage to my truck. The red trailer in the background is where my ez up landed. I don't remember there team name but they lost two of their canopies and damaged a third.  |

We left straight from Lowell up to Escanaba for the UP Hog Wild comp the following weekend. Lowell was a great time again, except for that freak storm so many have shared photos of the aftermath of. It hit right when we'd closed the box on our ribs. Shot fairy made it to the turn in without losing the box, although I understand there were those who didn't. Had to be a 50-60MPH wind there. 5th pork was our best showing....  . Only our second comp of the year though, so I'll take 2-5 in pork. Was great that the showers worked even into Sunday morning (we stayed Saturday night, watched the fireworks, and headed out Sunday at about noon) Hopefully we will make an annual swing to Lowell and then UP Hog wild every year. Was especially great to meet many of the GLBBQA members from this forum, including Bubba for the first time!
