Default Hydraulic Oil dangerous for UDS Build?

I just picked up my 55 gallon drum for my first UDS. It held hydraulic oil and has a sealed lid. I was thinking about grinding the top off and I have two questions for my brethren.
- How flammable is hydraulic oil? Do I have to be concerned while grinding off the top?
- when grinding off the top, do you grind on the very top of the lid or on the outside perimeter of the lid?
Thanks

My first UDS was from a barrel that held hydraulic oil and after a good burn two days in a row it has been in use almost every weekend since.

I used a cold chisel to open the top and had no problems with any fire but I would still fill yours with water if you are going to grind the top off, way more sparks than using a chisel.

Both of my drums held hydrolic oil, it is flameable with very high tempratures. It wont burn with a few sparks from grinding of the top. You dont have to be conserned about explosions.

But always uses gloves and savety glasses! Also make sure that the wire of your grinder is in a safe position.

Good luck and becarefull!
