Default Starting To Dry Out FINALLY

I was going to do a bunch of MOINK Balls for appreciation weekend and to go with my ribfest on Sunday

In Progress.

Dusted 2 plates of 4

Drain a bit as they cool

On Sunday I was doing up 9 racks of Ribs for Ribfest. I thought I was doing 8 but 1 of the 4 packages had 3 racks in it not 2. So I got 9. I have no pics of the slather or dusting or resting or loading the drum. What I do have is after 3 hours on the drum it started to rain a bit.

So I went to protect the drum from a bit of rain

Then there was a bit MORE rain.

It was now raining so hard it was driving the umbrella over so I went to hold it.

So it was time to rescue the Q. Ribs can't swim.

Into the oven (sigh) for 2.5 more hours. House smelled great though. Apple wood and HOT steamy BBQ Sides we had MOINK Balls, Naked Fatty, 2 kinds of Slaw,Carolina Slaw that I love and the Mayo stuff that is traditional to my wife, BBQ potato slices done on the gas grill, Bruschetta (tomato basil topping), pesto, beer, wine, pop,

Fruit with custard cream sauce for desert.

I was going for the certificate of participation in the MOINK Ball Appreciation day and for the certificate but I lost the link and email. But we did have a heck of meal and every one ate a full rack and there was half racks to take home. There was NO naked fatty left and MOINK Balls were few. All in all I say it was a save out of a FAIL. The 3 hours on the drum before the rain hit was a good start.

That is the exact reason I bought an easy up shelter. It never fails to rain when I have big cook planned. Everything looks great though.
Life is to short for green tea and tofu; pass me another half rack and a beer…
