Hey gang, first let me start by saying here in the great white north an 18.5" retails new for about $339. Used these are quite hard to find only appearing on CL or Kijiji here and there. Found one close to home with an upgraded Cajun Bandit door. Guy says he bought used and replaced whole lid, both grates and all lower vents which leads me to believe he bought it in rough shape.
All that said it's for sale for $200.00. I think if I hang in there one will come up cheaper as I check the adds frequently. Or does $200 seem OK?

It would have to be pretty clean to be worth 200. But don't be afraid to haggle , man ! Bring cash and show him a hundred thirty or forty...tell him that's all you can afford since you got laid off at the factory....see if you can work up a tear or two. Talk turkey with that fella!
That being said the WSM is an awesome smoker and if you get one , you won't be sorry. Good luck |

$299 on Amazon.
For $200, it had better be in tip-top shape. Check around all of the screws especially where the legs attach. That's where the first signs of corrosion/rust will show up. Look for bubbling paint. I agree with HamBone. Flash some green under his nose and be prepared to walk away. I'd wager that he's asking $200 but will take like $150-175. Russ

If the WSM doesn't happen, consider the UDS bargain mod.
I think I'd only go $200 if it were in mint condition. |

I would not pay that for a used 18.5 here but I think that if they are not readily available there used they may command a higher price due to the rarity factor. for that price if the money is not a deal breaker for you I would just get a new one. They go fast on craigslist here.

A few things: It's not in mint shape from what I can see in the add picture and although it has some new parts it has some older ones as well. They are harder to find here used than in the USA. Buying online is fine with the strength of our dollar....but often the shipping costs to CAN plus any brokerage/duties at the boarder make the cost savings disappear.
His add is $200 firm - but I think $200 is too much unless it were for example gently used and less than a year old. I don't mind haggling but when someone posts "price firm" that to me says they are not open to negotiate. Having said that I'm thinking there is no harm in trying. And yes for another $139 I can have a band new one from my local BBQ shop here in town. Heck with the amount of business I've done in there I might even be able to get a few more $$$ off of that price......more I think about it the more I think $200 is out of line - regardless of the upgraded CB door. Thanks boys we'll see how it goes, perhaps the price is why it is still there one week later when they usually go real quick - cheers.

Just because he says "$200 firm" doesn't mean that he won't take less when presented with the cash. If no one bites at $200, he'll lower the price. I'd offer $160 and see what he says.

I never offer to pay full price on Craigslist. If they aren't willing to haggle I would rather go buy seething new. I walked away from a tree stand last week over $30. He wasn't willing to budge and I shop Craigslist for a deal not out of necessity.
