Default Earliest ABT

Does anyone know who invented the ABT. Or where the earliest post is about them.

I'm not sure about the name ABT, which I first heard about maybe 5 or so years ago, but my parents used to fix up on the grill some meat and cheese stuffed jalapeno's wrapped in bacon back in the 70's. Except those were simply called stuffed peppers and not ABT's. I not sure where they got the stuffed peppers idea from back then. It may have been some friends of theirs who were visiting from Dallas brought the idea with them, I remember they sort of introduced all of us to real Tex-Mex during that visit. What a life changing event that was for everyone!

The earliest reference I can find on the Brethren is this thread...

From that thread it looks like the term was used before then, but it may not be in the archives or it may have been on the old Yahoo group before this site was started

I made some this weekend for freezing. and while putting them together thought:

Why use the term Buffalo?

Atomic, I get, they are peppers.
Turd, I get, they do have that shape to them.

Im guessing it came from a texas spin-off of chile relleno's of mexico. I thought i was supprising my family at a reunion with them. My great aunt said "hunny im sorry but your great grandma stuffed peppers with creamcheese and wrapped in bacon when i was little"

Atomic buffalo turd, is simply a description of what come out your ass the next morning.
