How does one go about finding a spot on a team or just starting one?

Im not to familiar with comps in my neck of the woods as most seem to be on the East Coast and Southern belt. Was wondering how one would find slots avail on a team or just starting my own?

Are there any competition forums or such i should be checking out?

If I were you I'd start my own team - but hook up with another team for a comp and help out. This is the place to find a team. Go to www.kcbs.us and find a comp that works into your schedule. Then come back here and ask if anyone from the Brethren will be at that comp. I bet you'll find someone to hang out with.

You have a very active sanctioning body in CA.

CABBQA if I remember correctly.
Lots of Brethren members.
