I've heard of a few people using EZ Up tarps or tents. Looks like they would be handy if the wind isn't too strong.

edited to add...
Sometimes the Brethren in the Catering and Competition sections discuss which tarps are the best. Might be able to find info there too. Good luck!

Canopies should go on sale at places like walmart and target in about a month or so. I would keep an eye out for that. I know my mom found a 12×12 canopy on sale a couple weeks ago, I think at target or sears. She loves it. Everyone will start to get rid of their summer equipment soon to make room for back to school and Halloween stuff right after that.

depending on what you want to spend I bought this metal one from Walmart for $299 and has been up for two years with no wear on it at all . when buying the cloth ones they wear out and do not hold up to the heat on the roof from the smoker like the metal ones do .

I don't have any experience with them but a guy at work said thats what he got (OutSunny Brand on Amazon) and he likes it. I have a covered back porch- we were talking about porches/patios at lunch one day. It appears different colors have different prices.
