Default Smokin' Bucky UDS Trial Run PR0N

Well I finished my first Drum Smoker. His name is Smoklin' Bucky, after the Wisconsin Badgers. I did my initial burn tonight and used two additional probes, stuck in potatoes in the rack center, to see the temp differences. Boy, does Bucky fire up fast. I started at 5:00 CST and finished taking temps at 5:30 CST. Here's what I found. The 4" dia. is 3" long under the top grate.

Top Bott 4" Bott Vent
243 128 225 Wide Open
258 131 230 "
272 135 250 "
282 137 250 "
304 144 298 "
318 152 310 "
324 155 320 " about 5:15 now
340 160 340 1/4 Open
347 180 360 "
316 196 330 Closed
305 204 310 Closed 5:30

It seems that the top grate and the 4" level out at about 300*. I also notice severe temp drops when I opened the lid. I am going to have to figure Bucky out. At 5:40 he was holding very steady at 325* at 1/4 open on bottom vent. The stacks do not vent the same. Could be the placement of the bottom vent to the wind direction. In any event he is humming along nicely. Rubbed him down with lard and fired up a basket of Wicked Good lump and a chimney of hot KBlue. I also used Hi temp silicone on all of my internals, screws, vents, stacks and therm. There are no leaks. So Brethren, please meet Smokin' Buckey. Also a pic of the ceremonial beer opening. Butts this wekend

Additioanl Notes:
All hardware SS, Paint is 500* engine, Removing the liner was a FARKIN Nightmare......two burn outs and three wire wheels Other than that three twelve packs and he's up and running. Dolley and cover on the way.

I used 500* engine paint from Rust Oleume, with a primer base of the same paint.
