Mayretter,

There's also MBN. Many of the MBN cookoffs also have a backyard portion.

http://www.mbnbbq.com

They just had one this past weekend in Jackson GA.

Also, hit google with something like "BBQ Georgia Cook Off". You should find a few
others.

I know of a few non-sanctioned (ala. only backyard) cookoffs in the fall. Last year
there was a good sized one downtown Atlanta. Smaller ones around here n there.

I'll be cooking the next 3 FBA contests that are all within a (reasonably)easy drive for you.
Albany GA, Thomaston GA, and Dothan AL.

Free free to hang out with me if you wish.
I will be cooking alone at Albany and Thomaston and have plenty of room.
Shucks, I might just put you to work

Both KCBS and FBA put on great contests.
FBA has the edge for new teams due to no garnish and 1 hour between the turn-ins.
Easier to get started.

Have fun no matter what you do!!!

This is a pretty good listing of comps by organization. you will have to check out each event to see if they offer backyard comps.
