Default Where does a brother get a bandera these days?

I've seen the Academy ads on line, but we don't have Academy up north. Brinkmann still has the BSKD, but it would be $500 and some change shipped to MN.

Where does a brother find a Bandera-like pit these days? Are there other options aside from what I've listed?

Be diligent on Craigslist and look for an older one. Search in your surrounding areas too.

A friend of mine bought a new one last year and I'll be honest with you, it was very cheaply made. Very flimsy. I would recommend against buying a new one. You'll fight it constantly to keep it at temps.

This doesn't help you, but it's interesting that there's another Bandera copy at Academy Sports, a Mexican made "Old Country Pit". It might be a bit better made than the Bandera...I'm not sure. However, I can't see why they would cut the depth of the racks from 18" to 16".

I sure wish I could find an old Bandera, but for some reason, they've never been very popular in this part of the country.

I traded my old BSKD for a half gallon of Jack!
I bought it new from Costco.com in 2005. I just looked to see if they still sold them.
Sorry, but they don't.

Yeah, I know they used to carry them. But I called Brinkmann and they told me that they now only ship them direct. Otherwise, Menards would have worked.
