Default New Kamado Grill

Hello all!! It's been a while since I last posted, but this month I purchased a new "Kamado" style grill. It's a long story but it was a scream'n deal I couldn't refuse. Couldn't wait for spring to do a little grill'n and smokin! So I did up half a turkey with a little apple wood. Turned out pretty darn good if I do say so myself.

This is the new grill, look how sad that Weber is in the background, sorry old buddy but there's a new kid in town.

This is the bird going on, it was soaked in a brine for 10 hrs.

This was the end result, a nicely smoked bird.
Hope you enjoy the pictures, I sure enjoyed the turkey,
Cheers from the Great White North,

Big Kahuna

Talking

Thank you all for your kind words, but you all inspire me. When I bought the new rig it was quite the discussion around the dining room table about what was going to be BBQ'd first. It was really quite funny. I had to wait three weekends before I could cook "my turkey".
The half turkey was left over from the fall when I last used my Weber, I found it easier to smoke that way. With the new rig I can easily smoke a whole turkey. When you cut into the breast there was a nice light red ring a good 1/4" deep. Should have got a picture of that. I really like the brine, it used molasses as opposed to sugar for the sweetness component.
Once again thank you all,
Big Kahuna
