Default Fuel oil tank smoker ideas.....

I am a newbie on this site. I am currently using a Masterbuilt electric smoker. It works great for butts and ribs. I would love to have one big enough to roast a whole hog. I have been thinking of making an upright smoker using a 275 or 300 gallon fuel oil tank. I have 2 laying around that have been empty for over 10 years. I was hoping some of you might have some pics of some or some ideas for one. I am still debating between propane or an offset firebox. Thanks for any input.

I am not sure if there is a picture to this post or not. If not, e-mail me through this site and I will send you the link.

I will post this first and then post again with a description of the cooker that Dad and built out of a 275 gallon fuel oil tank.

Lager,

Juggy

This the first pit I ever had and it was made from a fuel oil tank. It definitely needed more air flow in and out. It wasn't very air tight. I did learn to cook with it and finally decided it was time for efficiency and more of a higher quality piece of equipment.
