Question Turduckens

Thinking of trying to do one of these for Turkey day.
Has anyone ever tried it.

Where's the fun in ordering premade? The whole idea is to make it your self and smoke it instead of baking it.

I did one last year for Christmas on my Grilldome. I recommend two ducks.

I just got done watching the neelys smoke a turkey in some nasty white smoke. I would order premade before eating theirs.

I have had Turducken and did not like it. It was special ordered from LA and if I ever do it again, I will make it myself. The seasoning was just not to my taste. Butterfly boning a turkey is not to hard. If I do it, I will probably bone without butterflying.

The one I did tasted great. There just wasn't enough duck to make deboning the duck worthwhile.

Being from La. I've had my share of turduckens. The stuffings vary in types. Some of the commercial ones are ok, some are not. All are expensive.

A local bucher shop in Marietta Ga. has some pretty good turduckens. They also do whole stuffed pigs, quail, rabbits. Sorry, no stuffed squirrels! Here's the site..http://www.cajunmeatcompany.com/

Im leaning more towards just using the breasts of the three, and flattening them out well. A friend did this with just the Turkey portion and said it saved a lot of time and tasted wonderful as well

i've had turducken a couple of times always thought it was more show than go. don't think i'd smoke one, i'd be worried about cooking it all the way thru. I deconstruct one when i cook for thanksgiving
