I agree with grillman. Go with what you know you like, then make small changes to see if you can make it better. I do not use the liquid smoke myself, but remember mom using it to marinate jerky before it went into the dehydrator.

Liquid smoke goes good with vodka. Take one shot before each Q session.

Welcome! The best use for liquid smoke that I have found was when I convinced my son (15 yrs old) to down a half teaspoon of it. I am chuckling now just thinking about it.
