Default What size draft pipe?

Hey all Im building a masonry block offset smoker. It's moving along but I'm ready to pour the roof over the meat side but my local supply company doesn't have 8" clay flue liner. So I have to figure something else out. First what size? I'm totaly new at this and I just pulled 8" round from the air. Would 6" round work. The dimensions are 15.5" widex 24" tallx25" deep for the fire box. The smoke opening is 6"widex8"tallx22"deep and the meat side is 15.5"widex40"tallx25"deep. Since the smoke wont be that hot can I use the double walled vent pipe from Home Depot the biggest it comes is 6" round. The more I read this forum the faster I want this thing done so I can try some of this stuff
Thanks
Mike

I think 6" would be fine. 8" sounds overly large to me. And if you use 6" you can put a stovepipe damper in it.
I have done that several times.
See this link for an example.

For longevity and looks alone I would look for a clay pipe
