Default Need some help in the Twin Cities!

Anyone living in or near the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul) know a good butcher that carries whole packer briskets? I'm working in town all week and heading straight to the U.P. Hog Wild bash so I can't stop by my normal meat guy in Madison.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Aubrey

I have several co-workers in that area. let me see what they recommend. Where are you staying?

Do you have Sam's, Costco or Restaurant Depot memberships just in case?

Generally, in MN, to get whole packers you have to buy a whole case. Even then
it's likely special order.

I have a Sam's membership, but the Sam's in Madison always carries flats only so I wasn't sure if it would be different up here. Not sure I can get a Restaurant Depot membership since I'm not in the business. I'll try Greg's Meats for now and go from there. Thanks for the info Ron.

Here's one more, Aubrey. Depending on where you are staying I may be able to find more.

A quick Google search of "Minneapolis Meat Markets" and "St. Paul Meat Markets" turned up quite a few names and numbers.

Also found this link http://www.meatsretail.com/MN/Minneapolis/

Sorry I can't vouch for any of them, but hopefully a place to start with phone calls.

Thanks. I started down that same road and got overwhelmed with the number of locations I found. There are quite a few "meat" shops in the area, so I was hoping to find someone local enough to recommend a specific butcher.

My experience in Madison is that we have several "meat" shops as well, but very few of them will carry, much less sell, whole briskets on a whim.

It really is no fun when the job that pays the bills gets in the way of bbq.
