Good or bad

I have been in 5 comps won first place too times in sauce first place beans third place pork and forth place in chicken. Is this about where i should be when just starting out.

Not enough info! Is this a family, 4 team, neighborhood, unsanctioned, sanctioned KCBS contest, ect. Then we can give info, maybe.

For just starting out that is a heel of a start... My 1st comp I had 2 DQ's and place dead last... So you are doing fine. Don't change anything just "tighten" things... Have a great comp year...

Looks like you should review each category from each comp and figure out what you did different. You had a great start at North Platte, but have struggled a bit since then. Look at your judges' scores and see where you can do better. Taste and tenderness should be where you concentrate your efforts until you start realizing consistantly good scores. Appearance is easy to fix with a little effort. Check out the turn-in box threads and see what you need to do just to keep up.
