Roll Call. Inside 30 days. 1st Annual Hay Capital BBQ Cook Off and Bike Show, Yates Center, KS - July 10 & 11, 2009

July 10th and 11th is the date for the 1st Annual Hay Capital BBQ Cook Off and Bike Show. The cook off is part of MARDI GRASS, a festival that is full of of things for the kids, young and old. There are over 50 arts and crafts exhibits in our air conditioned elementary school, a bike show, a tractor show, blacksmithing and mountain man exhibits, petting zoo, climbing wall, horseshoe tournament, skillet toss tournament, food venders, and lots of entertainment with singers, and marching bands. The city swimming pool will be open and free for everyone and will include an ice cream social at 1:30 PM Saturday. There will be live music on Friday night and a large fireworks display at 10 PM Friday night. Also the American Legion Riders will host a beer garden both Friday and Saturday and the Yates Center Fire Department will be drawing the winner of a big screen TV, so you could go home with the Grand Championship trophy and a new TV. We just mailed in our entry fee this week. Bringing the families with us...so look for the two guys surrounded by a bunch kids

Made my motel reservations for the family today. (24 days to go) We are excited to come to Yates Center. It does not hurt that we are leaving from there for a weeks vacation. I can't think of a better way to start a vacation than with a bbq Contest!

We are a little more than two weeks away from the our cook off and we are up to 18 teams for our first comp. So if your looking for a State Championship and entry into the big show, we still got room for you.
