Looks like an old Sante Fe model charcoal grill.(char broil mfg.)
It's big enough to smoke via pushing the coals to the sides but I have one just for grilling and have found it a bit on the thin side for keeping temps constant for long enough to smoke. You can adjust the grid that hold the coals and I like to raise it up to sear when I grill. It may have butterfly vents on the side both on top and bottom which helps regulate air flow.
Agaiin, I would use this just for grilling steaks, chops, wings etc. not for some serious low 'n slow.
Dos centavos.
