The worst thing that can happen to a new team!

I was told the worst thing that could happen to a first time team was to get a call. Well, we did. We placed thrid in ribs at The Battle of the Pigs yesterday in Gray, TN. We placed 33 of 48 overall, but the ribs made up for what we messed up.
Our team is very excited and planning our next competition. Got a lot of work to do, especially on chicken.

Did you take notes as to what you needed to improve on? Timing? Presentation? Taste? Tenderness? Less Alcohol??

And no, it's not the worst that can happen....it's the best that can happen....our very first contest we got a 2nd in pork and a 3rd in brisket, finished 12th overall....got our azzes handed to us in ribs and chicken.....that was 5 years ago.......last year, we cooked the AR Invitational....

Congrats! Its true, my first contest got a 1st in Chicken and a 10th in Pork out of 55 teams. Now I'm practicing on off weeks and doing 17 comps this year.
