Weber genesis 310. Its a fantastic grill and retails about 699. The gensis 330 with side burner and sear station is another 100$ for 799.
I have the 310 and its perfect for me and I would recommend to anyone |

I admit I am a bit of a pellet fanboi these days, but you may want to consider some of the pellet grills that can do high heat and low n slow as an alternative. The budget may be a bit difficult to fit into, but I think some might come close.
I've cooked with just about every mainstream fuel with the exception of the really large stick burners, but I absolutely love my pellet grill. I can get it over 900* if I wanted to for direct searing or go low enough to cold smoke. I still have a gasser flat-top outside to do Japanese steak style cooks, eggs etc, but that's my only gas cooker now. So now that I have sufficiently not answered your question, if you are set on gas, I can +1 Weber as I had one for well over a decade, and it was a tank. |

It's hard to go wrong with Weber, but take a look at the Saber grills. The Saber Cast 500 P is in that price range. I am extremely impressed with my Saber.

I may be biased, but you can't go wrong with Holland Grill. You can grill, smoke, steam. Bought min at an estate sale 8 years, the original owner had I at least 5+ years, an she still irking like a champ. All I'v done to it I replace the burner. Trust me, you won't be dissapointed.

I agree with this, especially if you aren't going for a high end grill. I have some very high dollar Crown Verity grills, but my Weber gasser is old as heck and still performs like a champ.

My personal experience with the Holland model I cooked on quite a few times is that it had difficulty getting to good sear temperatures with the way the deflector works on it. My in-laws went with a Weber after having the Holland for many years, and they have been quite happy with it. |

I may get run out of here, for saying this.....but I think my next gasser is going to be a cheapo. For the money it would take, to buy enough quality to last more than 10 years, you can buy cheaper grills, and when they fall apart after a few years....go buy another brand new one. Heck....your needs may have changed and you want something different, anyway. You may want something bigger, or smaller. You may want the super-duper searing feature, that they didn't offer a few years ago. And who knows what feature may be available next year.
I'm just getting really tired of paying for names that are supposed to mean quality, and still not getting much better of a product. At least with the cheaper ones, you know you're getting what you pay for. Hahaha.
