Default When Fed Ex Rings....

On an unsuspecting Nebraska Winter Day….. I had just finished scooping the driveway and walks to rid them of the annoying additional of inch of snow….and found myself thinking 9 degrees DOES indeed feel different than 9 below, a veritable heat wave!!! Settled back at my desk to continue the email onslaught….(typical Friday, get it off my desk onto someone else’s before the weekend). Then with no warning this creature begins going ballistic ……. DOOR BELL RINGS…

A thank you to the FedEx man who gives Rudy a treat and calls him by name….(he elevates our status in the community cause ”Everyone Loves Rudy”)
I evaluate the parcel and this is what I see…

Perishable …hmmmmm I wonder what is going on here….. I know I didn’t order anything, no guarantees what Tom may have been up to but I doubt it…..
Upon investigation I am further puzzled….but certainly excited, never heard or let alone tasted any of these treasures….

But beneath them nestled in dry ice……..

I laughed with realization and flashback to an Instant Message conversation recently with a Sister who has rapidly become a good Friend….LMAJ, sister you are too much. Thank you!
Now I turn to you Brothers and Sisters…seeing how Tom and I are Scrapple Virigins…(be gentle ).your best classic and comfort food recipe for our maiden voyage….

What a great gift. I am from around Phila- the Tastykake and scrapple capital of the world. Cook the scrapple in a hot fry pan with some oil- we use non stick. Cook at 350. We like the outside crispy. I have mine with fried eggs so it can absorb the yolk. Some like it with ketchup. I like it with maple syrup- if not using eggs. Enjoy. It is one of our favorite breakfast foods. She sent you the best store brand as far as I am concerned.

Ummm... Yessss....

Good stuff, however. I treat it like corned beef hash. Great with a couple of fried eggs.

Sorry but I'll pass after a little reading thanks to Ron...
"Scrapple is typically made of hog offal, such as the head, heart, liver, and other scraps, which are boiled with any bones attached (often the entire head), to make a broth"
