Default 1st Cook on new Weber 26 inch One-Touch Kettle

Started with a chimney of Lazzari Mesquite Lump. Man this stuff sparks like nothing I've ever used before. I don't think I could use this in the summer months because of fire danger.

This new 26 inch kettle is huge. Here is is with a whole bag of lump in it.

Got a nice rib eye, seasoned with Just "Southern Flavor" and salt.

Rib Eye and boneless chicken thighs seasoned with Plowboy's Yardbird.

Lots of shrimp and a couple of jumbo sea scallops. Shrimp is seasoned with "Cajun Blast" and the scallops with "Crabby Dirt" and spritzed with Cajun Blast "Herb and Butter" spray.

Look how much room is still available on the picture above.

Here's the plated and final pictures. And yes, I can still get fresh corn on the cob!

My wife's steak...

And here's the rubs, seasonings and stuff I used:

I can't even imagine needing something bigger. For those that have a Ranch Kettle I can't even picture cooking that much.

I'm going to love this Kettle. This weekend I'm going to smoke some ribs to check out the thermometer in the lid and see how cooking indirect works.

You just gotta love a Weber Kettle...

Nice Larry! I'll bet it'll be easier to do a lot of bigger cuts indirect with it.

BTW-where is the Weber Kettle Appreciation group?

In honor of BigDog I have chosen to save the SPAM for seasoning the new 22 inch WSM when it arrives.

That Kettle is HUGE. Nice grub also. Good ole surf and turf.

How is that crabby dirt? I still have my sample package I got with my Dirt order, have not tried it yet.

That is one BIG kettle! Food looks great. I was surprised to see the grill absent of Moink balls though.

Well, I can't tell much about the kettle, but I know that the product you're turning out looks outstanding! As far as I'm concerned you can't do no better than that final plate of food. Corn, tater, steak, shrimp. That's a perfect meal right there.

Thanks for the food compliments.

You're right. You can't tell much about the kettle from this post. It's just some basic grilling.

This Saturday I'm going to smoke some stuff just to see how it works on some indirect low and slow.

Rockin in Rocklin! Great job. Did you stare at the scratches during the cook? At least you will get the heat control down before you get the official lid.

Didn't even use the lid tonight. Saturday during the "smoke" phase of the test I will be looking at the lid and it will bother me. But that's just a burden I will have to bear.
