I as a KCBS member who is wishing to be on the board, willing to put in the time needed and love BBQ in general wish I had more information to bring forth....I am thinking that one no or little cost item would be to finally create this members only area that has been discussed for a couple of years that has not come to fruition, in this area there could be the standard recipes that you can find anywhere on the net but ours having a real how to do? meaning this is how you bone a chicken, this is how and why a melting of spices produces a great working seasoning for pork shoulder, basically a how to gety started, like a bbq class online and an area where all members can post their proceedures for how to making it available to backyard cooker and new competition teams giving them a headstart... additionally local association that have Q fests (they must use the KCBS Sanctioning) could post q-fests and other get togethers where instruction is free or really cheap for members... I would like to see the real discounts that MMA promised for KCBS members come to fruition, places that we will use as cooks, not a hotel that we will not stay at during a comp, we will be cooking????? not sleeping... I can get those rooms cheaper without their discont, we need to go out and seek deals for our members that are usefull.
