Default BBQ Galore

Mods - if this is in the wrong place or just wrong, please correct it.

I just saw on another forum that BBQ Galore filed for Chapter 11. I hope that everyone ends up ok.

In Tucson they just changed the name to BBQ World. Said they broke off the franchise.

I read it in the LA Times Business section this morning. Seems the housing crises has made them lose a large chunk of customers.
Figures, they always seem to cater to that "..Built in.." crowd.

Bummer I hate to see any business fail especially a barbecue one. Hopefully they can get reorganized since they filed under chapter 11 and not 13. I don't buy there often but it is the only BBQ retailer around these parts...

Here's the LA Times story: http://www.latimes.com/business/la-f...,2086558.story

The store in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA closed recently. That one and a few others in Orange County CA are owned separately from the Carlsbad HQ. Their structure of corporate owned versus franchise stores is confusing to me. I'm not sure how this filing affects the relationship.

The guy at the RSM store told me that it was the only store being shut down. I guess the other locations will still operate under Chapter 11.

This sucks. I bought a new mountain bike and a Bar-b-chef smoker and they both closed shop. And I researched both places. I've had three jobs in my life and they all went outta business. Is it me? Don't matter I have a new WSM and it works great.

I guess I'll have to do a lifetime buy of spare bits for the grill...
