Default 7.5# pork should; wish me luck

Gettin ready to throw on a seven and a half pound pork shoulder. I've never done anything this big so wish me luck...

By the way, I went to the recipe section to see about possibly getting a rub recipe for this and I hit the brick wall about stopping spammers. I loved it! That's one way of keeping the bum spammers out.

I'll post pix on my photobucket site of todays excursion along with last weeks ribs.

Oh yea, Am I putting this thread in the right area???

silverwolf,

if you use the example below, you can post your pics to photobucket and then link them to your post so you don't have to go to photobucket to see them. here is the code

Good luck with it.

Google "basic bbq rub" and you'll come up with a few.

Here's one of Raichlen's (from the web)
1/4 cup coarse salt (kosher or sea)
1/4 cup (packed) dark brown sugar
1/4 cup paprika
3 tablespoons freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
1/2 to 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon celery seeds

Congrats on the smoker, looks nice. That photo of the gray wolf is amazing. Be sure to let us know how the food turns out.

watertowerbbq,

Thanx for the link info. I will do that. I didn't think I could post pics here cause I'm not a paid member yet.
