Default Burnt up my smoker...!?..

How do you burn up a smoker. Well let me show you.
Anybody that followed the Ankeny BBQ thread will know how I did (3rd overall) but not everybody knew that my smoker burnt up at 8am Saturday morning.. Talk about stress.
Kept a cool head and moved things around to do the best job I knew how.

This is a Louisiana Country Pellet Smoker (Whole Hog Version). I'm currently working with the company to get replacement parts. They seam to be really helpful.

The fan quit running so the heat backed up and melted the wires and roasted the motor. Started tripping breakers cause of the wires grounding out.
Luckly it looks like the control panel was spared.

Yep. The whole hog smokers are split in the middle. So I just pulled the divider out and had the one unit heat the whole chamber. Took a little adjusting but it worked fine.

Yeah, mine got a little toastie when we tried hooking the Stoker up to it at the last Q-fest. The Stoker was trying to regulate the fan and pellet feed, found out the hard way you have to have the fan on all the time to have the positive air pressure since the fire pot is so close to the control unit. That is the one thing I like about the Traeger auger system, fire box is way away from any control pieces!

You can see a little char on them wires!

Probably lucky the fan quit when it burnt, that smoke from the burnt wire would have put a nasty taste into your meat
