Hi everyone and thanks! We arrived back in Phoenix about 90 minutes ago and just finished up dinner. We had a really great time in Durango and appreciate all the hard work that Mark Simon and the rest of his colleagues from the Kiwanis Club of Durango put in to make this event happen. Merl called it "the biggest little contest in the West" and he's right about that. The local turnout is huge and the park was full of people all day who were filling themselves up on music, fun and, of course, barbeque!

We had a great time and we'll certainly remember how much fun it is to cook in Durango. We'll definitely be going back again!

Oh yeah! At least until September!

I'd also like to note that I especially liked the way the People's Choice was conducted. Albertson's donated pork butts, and each team was given one to prepare. We turned it back in a pan to a central location, where members of the public could pay for samples and vote. That way, we know VQ's shirt didn't have anything to do with it.
