Default UDS charcoal basket idea...

I just finished blowing up some birthday balloons and the helium tank I was using said to recycle it at a steel recycling center. I was sitting there looking at the thing trying to figure where to stash it until I could drop it off.

If I cut the top off of it, drill in a few dozen or more holes, add some legs, I think I could have a pretty descent charcoal basket. I may even cut the bottom off and add add an expanded metal bottom to it.

I also looked up to see if helium was flammable because I couldn't remember right off the top of my head, and it is not based on all of my findings. Now that I think of it, it is a shielding gas for arc welding... DUH on my part.

Any brethern done suck a hack job before on one of these before?

You would deffinately need a expanded metal bottom or ash would build up and snuff fire. I made one out of an ECB.

yep ! time to get to slicing and dicing that tank

I'd whack the top off and hold
whack the bottom of and use it as the ash pan

put some expanded on the bottom of the belly section and space from the bottom ash pan with strapping

remember no pics didn't happen -
