Default Opinions-EZ Ups vs "Cheesy ups".

I have had EZ up Brand canopies for my work for many years. We always bought the killer 700 dollar units. They held up great even though they were treated like hell. So now I want another one for the cookers.
I am not going to dump 700 on this. It is mainly for a month (yeah right!) while I get some work done on the kitchen, as my deck will be turned into a heap of old lumber.

Who has bought a cheap model that they like? I am skeptical, the few I have seen look like something my son would build with his Lego's.

Costco and BJ's both add up to $217.00 and come with a bag with rollers, side walls and is the original ez-up....no cheezy up's here not worth wasting the money even for a month

I agree with Julie, the e-z up from both these vendors is a value purchase.

I just got a new one from costco.com for $219 free shipping. It is made by caravan. Heavy duty, bag with rollers & sidewalls. The one they have in store is lightweight aluminum

If that's the same thing that Vinny uses, I like them. Getting them back into the bag was a chore, but setup was easy and they seemed to be well built and durable.

No question EZ ups are among the best, but I have done ok with a 10X10 Quickshade that I got at Sports Authority a few years back; granted, I am not out on the circuit nearly as much as some of my colleagues.
On sale they run anywhere from 75-120 dineros I believe.

It is the exact same one as Vinny. They must of increased the bag because i do not have the difficulty putting on the bag as much as he does

The knock offs will buckle in a half a** wind. Make sure what ever you get it has the center structure. I had one that just had the outer frame. It bend like nothing at GAB a couple years ago.

the walls are the best and the replacements aren't really worth it

What brand is that 10x20? I have one of the older EZ-UPs I purchased from Sam's several years ago and it's still in great shape, but I'd love to have a bigger one...

Thx,
James.

I have the Costco Caravan and an older steel framed Caravan and I'm happy with them. Recently got 2 EZ-Ups off CL that were bought at Sams Club, one of the tops have the seams coming apart at all 4 corners. I called to see what a replacement top cost and it was more than the purchase price of the whole shebang! Caravans are the same! At one time Caravan was selling replacement tops for $79+ shipping (Costco returns). We were at the Business Costco recently and they had King Kanopy brand, with roll down walls and roller bag for $199-they looked pretty decent!

The Sams EZ-Ups I got have thin nylon sidewalls like tent material, the bags are a little beefier than the Costco Caravan and they have these valances or sunshades that attatch to the frame (haven't quite figured them out). Six to one a half dozen to another! $120 for two canopies, so I have a backup set. Other than that I've seen some reasonably priced 10x15 Swiss Army ones that looked nice, but one good wind gust and any canopy will be a tangled web of nylon and steel.

It's a Shelter Logic. Item # 272400-2806 Here is the linkhttp://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...ssearch=272400

It's nice because it has straight legs so it stays in a 20 by 30 comp site if you have a trailer sitting beside it.
