Default whole chicken wrapped in bacon?

whole chicken wrapped in bacon? Is this even possible. I was tossing around the idea of smoking a chicken today and either wrapping it in bacon or inserting bacon under the skin.

I know we wrap lots of things in bacon around here but I've never heard of this one. Anyone?

We have wrapped goose, duck and turkey breast in bacon to help prevent from drying out. It works well there and I don't see why it wouldn't work for Chicken.
You will more than likely have to pull the skin as it would be a big ole piece of rubber, but what the heck.
If you put it under the skin you would just have to toss the bacon as it would not get crisped up.
Sounds like it is time for an experiement. Get three chickens and do a side by side by side. One fully wrapped, one just under the skin and one with no bacon. Of course you take tons of pictures and let us know.

Only problem i find is that the bacon absorbs most of the smoke, the skin is rubber and inedible and the meat is lack of smoke flavor.

What if you skinned the whole chicken and then wrapped it in bacon. I do that with thighs all the time. I know it's a whole chicken, but the smoke would get between and around the bacon and you wouldn't have to worry about rubber skin.
