I burned out my drum on Sunday. I didn't get a chance to get the cam to take some pics, but I will during the clean up/out. The paint bubbled up and got loose on the outside about 2/3 up the side. I ran out of fuel, so after I give it a scraping, I'll see if I need to build a bigger fire to finish the burnout process. I think I'm good though.
I'll post pics of the rest of the building process. My goal is to build my UDS with $30 or less out of pocket. Cost as of now: Drum $8.48 - (purchesed with $$ from recycling of cans.) Total cost: $0

Pics!
But seriously, I built my first drum (not really a UDS) for under $5! I used a lot of recycled and clearance stuff on it... The last two I built rang in right at $88 each using all new materials on each. I'd bet $30 is doable! James. |

$30 is very doable. We spent a grand total of $27 on Wyatt's UDS. I let him have my old kettle for the grill, had some paint around from the last build, expanded cost $0 (from scrap pile at work), all was left was the propane for burning the paint off ($17 refill), and pipe nipples and other hardware.
