IŽm looking forward to the SPOGA Cologne Grill trade show in September, with a little luck i might get my hands on a cheap exhibition model.

Until then, i might have the possibility to get a mini egg (9 1/2" grate) shipped from Canada via a friend.

Does anybody have experience with the mini egg ? IŽd like to hear some opinions first, even though i think its gonna be nice for cooking smaller stuff
and single meals.( and to get my GAS fever down a bit )

What should i look for when i upgrade to a large egg ? Is the large one big enough or should i try to get a XL egg ? Which eggcessoires are needed ?

Btw, how do you clean the ashes out of the bottom of the egg ?

I wish thereŽd be an eggfest around here someday.

Not sure how much one of these www.komodokamado.com would be, but maybe you can get more cooker for your $ on that side of the ocean

Thanks Don the wife lived and worked in Germany for several years but the kids and I have never been. I think this is a perfect reason for a little vacation.

What do you guys think of the primo Kamado ?

Hows the Oval XL compared to the large big green egg ?

http://www.primogrill.com/oval.html

I seems to have a lot more room, but how about temperature control, cleanup and general quality ?

Thanks,

DM

That small one will only make you more hungry for a larger one.

I own 2 BGE's and am satisfied with mine. But I believe that temp control, cleanup and overall quality is close to the same on either cooker. The oval shape does allow for more cooking room. Primo has recently introduced D shaped heat barriers which perform a similar function as the BGE plate setter. A lot of Primo owners started cooking with BGE's and some folks have one of each brand. Both have guarantee's against breakage and both have good customer support and active forums with cooking tips on ceramic cookers.

Hope to get the chance to meet you there, Ray.

Any more informations on the Amsterdam event ? Thats only 250 miles away and i consider going there
just for event.
Hope it doesnt happen on the same day as the berlin barbecue festival and the german bbq championchips, wich
will both be held in may, too.

Cheers,

DM
The date is June 7th. I don't think there are any details yet but you can find info about the distributor on the BGE site. Wessel is a great guy. Tell him we spoke if you talk with him.
