Default Corn Chowder!!

It"s been raining the past 2 days over here a little chili, the temps been all the way down to 60*! One of the family's favorite is Corn Chowder,...

Chopped up some Onions, Celery, Bacon, and Buckboard Bacon!
Chopped up some Potatoes, and for a change of pace, some sweet potatoes,(I'm hooked on them now thanks to Arlin)

Saute'ed up, added flour to make a roux, and my secret ingredient
Chicken Broth!

This with some fresh dinner rolls, good stuff!!
Hit the spot, it being so cold and all!

The sweet potatoes, added a different taste, will do it again!
The B.B.B? man, it just completed the whole dish!
sorry about the pics, I need to take Curt's class!

That looks like some great chowder. I love the stuff with a good sour dough.

Excellent job!

yeah, that would be good, I've made the same recipe using CLam juice, and canned clams to make clam chowder...

Forgot to add in 1st post, added 2 cans Evaporated milk, and 1 cup whole milk...
The B.B.B, in the chowder is the best!

mmm mmm good....looks great! I like the idea of adding the sweet potato, will have to try that next time I make a soup. I wonder how a mixture of sweet and white potatos would do mashed together.....hmmm..might have to give that a try. I have used a little celery root along with the potato with good results.

I hear people adding reg. mashed potato to the mashed sweet potato,...to
"stretch" the portion, and to not get that strong sweet potato taste...
