Thanks to a last minute push the Nelsonville, OH Contest will survive. As of now there are over 16 teams. Still a few more applications to process. With any luck and last minute drive ups we may make the 25 teams necessary to be a qualifier.

We will be at the cabin in Hocking Hills and plan on coming up on Sat........Hoping for a great fall week in the hills. Start vacation tomorrow and dont go back until Nov.

Wish I could be there but Libertyville is just about 200 miles closer for me and it saves a vacation day. Now if they could reschedule it for say August sometime it would be perfect in my schedule as I really don't have anything close right now.

I always enjoyed cooking Nelsonville even if some bad things happened on the way there a few times.

Smokin Santa retired from my team after that contest and sometimes cooks Grand Rapids but that's it. I think he may still have a headache from that year.

I'll never forget that. That was one of the most surreal moments I can ever recall from such a drunken state of mind.

We'll miss you but hopefully we'll get to meet there next year. Either way mark your calendar for Jul 18&19 and do Dayton with us next year.

Thank you for offering but dont have the crew put together and I am going up on Oct 22 to look at the 84 Long Neck Lang I'm thinking of buying. Looking forward to cooking with you all in 08. What is in dayton in July??????

July 18 & 19 is the 2nd annual Ohio Open Barbecue Cook-Off to benefit the Dayton VAMC. It will be held at Kettering American Legion Post 598. If you would like you can PM me with your contact information (name; address; phone & email) and I'll add you to our contact list.

Just an FYI

I just got off of the phone with The Inn at Hocking College and they said that they had a group cancel out and had 5 or so rooms available for Friday and Sat night.

Just thought I would pass that along.
