Thumbs down Gwaltney Pork Sausage-Fattie roll

Found a new sausage fattie roll being marketed in Va this week. Its made by Gwaltney and I gotta say its crap. I usually buy Gwaltney bacon, and recently stumpled on there APPLE SMOKED bacon which was excellent. So when I spotted this new fattie type roll I picked one up. The name enticed me, but the price sealed the deal. They were on sale 4 for $5. I only bought one and Im glad I did. This stuff is mostly lard, and has NO flavor. Word to the wise, stick with Jimmy Dean, Tennessee Pride, or other well known and proven chubs. I won't be buying this sausage again.

I have to agree with you on some brands of sausage...
All lard, no flavor!
I like the Farmland brand real well for my Fatties.
My favorite, though, is a Fatty made from Brats!

I have some room on the smoker tomorrow and some brats in the freezer. Sounds like a good thing to try!
