Default First FEC Comp - Two 2nds

Non-Sanctioned contest near where I live. Thirteen total teams. Good mix of backyard guys and KCBS cooks. Pretty even split at awards, too, which was cool to see.

2nd - Beans
2nd - Brisket

They only announced top 3 and gave no results to take home. So, unless you placed in the top three in a category, you had no idea where you fell. Kinda farked up, but the money was good. I took home $325. Entry fee was $125 and they provided all the meat. I was short $350 from my BBQ account to pay for the FEC, so it was just what I needed. But now my BBQ funds are dry... for now.

FEC-100 was a pretty sweet cook. Turned out some pretty nice product. I was happy with everything I cooked. I did think both of my briskets were the best I had. I guess the judges agreed.

Congratulations Todd.

To do so well with your first competitive cook with the FEC-100 sure is auspicious.

I figure I was 4th place in every other category. Hey, it could happen.
