Default Deep fry day at Casa Bacon - pron heavy

This was an epic deep fry day. This will also be pron heavy...

Start by getting the fire and oil going.

First up, a couple wings.

Toss with a little S&P and we're off to the races.

Next up was potato chips. We bought a potato slicer at a farmer's market when we were in New Orleans about 8 years back and this was only the second time we used it. It was on the Marie Kondo list of not bringing joy...well it brought joy so it got a reprieve!

The first batch to go in got a little crazy and the oil flared up. The wife and daughter panicked while I slowly rotated the grate off the fire to let it calm down. Unfortunately no pics or video of the flare up, but it was pretty cool.

One must stay hydrated when working around a hot fire!

Then since it was International Bacon Day....

Then kick up the bacon by battering and deep frying! The smaller items are Cheddar Jalapeno taco bites.

Next was deep fried pickles...at this point my chest was really struggling, but I pushed through!

We've always wanted to deep fry those potato patties you can buy, so here was a chance. Turned out just like McDonalds.

Then the finish to this epic fry day was deep fried onion rings. The same batter was used for all and it was perfect.

Thanks for looking

I've got a 5qt and an 8qt. Every since I bought the 5qt, the other one collects dust. It's the perfect size.
