You could put washers as spacers between the drum and this fitting to get the proper distance between the drum and fixture...or a pipe nipple...anything to get it spaced right !then draw it tight against the spacer...just a thought

Would something like this work?

It's a garage door handle.

It would work...just remember the Heat Transfer...that handle will get HOT!! You might go that route and split a piece of wooden rod and bolt it to the handle

How about some foam padding that's used for water pipes?

That might work Mista...or a piece of red rubber hose ...like a garden hose...it would be better suited to the heat !!

Thats what I put on mine. The tabs can be bent to conform to the curved surface of the barrel. I am talking about the handles.

Mista,

Those will work fine. Just make sure to put a washer on the inside under the nut. They will get hot but you can figure that one out later after you see how hot. Another option would be to put a high temp washer of some sort on the outside between the drum and the handle. Ask at HD or Lowes.

Would the bolt transfer heat?

I've got to change my handle on my lid too. It's a hollow metal one but it does get too hot. I'm thinking about building one with one of these stainless coil grips.

I also want to make a "L" clip that will fit on the same bolts as the handle, only on the inside to use for a lid holder. (to rest on the edge of the barrel) Right now I'm using a washer of sorts, it works just not a totally good fit.

Lowes and Home Depot have Genie Universal garage door lift handles for a few bucks. I used them on my WSM center section. I put a gate handle on my flat lid and it was too hot to handle, so I had to put spacers on it-much better now.

Those you have pictured are the ones. Bend a piece of steel into a J shape and drill a hole into it and using one of the handle mount bolts secure it to the inside of the lid as a hanger, it works great
Hope it gives you an idea what I'm talking about!

Mista, from the same seller on Ebay that C Rocke listed (above), can you use the air inlet vents he's selling?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll..._promot_widget

What type of vent do you use on a BDS anyway?
