Default Prime Briskets at Albertsons

I went for a 6 pack and saw these beauties in the case. Prime Brisket for $1.49 LB. They were at the Albertsons on 377 in Keller. The only problem with them is that they are not that big. I also got a whole trimmed choice for $1.99LB. It is a work of beauty too, not just the flat. At 10PM there were still four left in the case.

The Albertsons in Oklahoma City nearest my house had whole packer cuts of Choice Brisket for $1.49 lb. I just cooked two of them today. Very good cut of meat. I looked for prime but there weren't any. That's still a great price for choice.

I got my first brisket on the smoker about 10 minutes ago. Got it at same for about 1.99 a pound. 12 pounder so I have a long day ahead. Two butts on now too and ribs and chicken to come later.

I went to my Albertsons and they were $1.49. They were marked as being 'supreme'.
Where does that fall into the Prime, Choice, Select cuts? The meat guy there couldn't tell me.

Made up by the packer or distributer.
Means nothing--marketing hype.

That's what I figured and why I kept asking him if it was P C or S and he couldn't tell me anything but supreme.

I could not see anywhere on the package to indicate what it was.

The little one I bought with that sticker is marked Choice on the back. I picked up 2 of the prime briskets. There was 1 left at 8:30 this morning.

Yes, the Prime were cryovac'd. The were USDA PRIME and marked as such.

I was out of town this weekend with my son for a soccer tournament. His game on Sunday wasn't until 3:00 PM and we had to be out of the hotel at 11:00 AM. We go to Sam's just to waste some time. I am poking around in the meat section and find 2 PRIME top rounds in with all the choice ones. Both were about 9 pounds each.... got 'em for $2.88/lb!!!!!!! Farkin SCORE!!!!

Good thing I always have a cooler in the truck.

Thanks to all who turned me on to the fact that Sam's gets prime meat cased in with the choice.
