Where's the 15% off when registering? Don't see that anywhere.

I get free shipping with the code but it isn't applying the 15% to the sword. Wonder if it excludes wusthof products like BB&B does.

It says that the offer will be sent via e-mail. Did you get anything from them that included a code?

There's no comparison. The Wustof Brisket Slicer is possibly the best knife I own. Every time I use it I comment about how much I love it!

Ive cut probably 50+ briskets in the last 6 months with the cheaper Amazon knife listed above. It works great. I have no idea what the more expensive knife could do that the cheaper one wont as far as function.

It's not for everyone, just like a Thermapen, but it is a great tool and I found it well worth the extra expense over my previous slicer. If you want the details, take a look at this thread...

http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=111704

and this post on the Apocalypse Now Blog from when the knife was designed...

http://aporkalypsenowbbq.com/?p=177

Here is the important part...

Quote:
The knife is a 34cm (14inch) long thin bladed slider 54mm deep at the heel with a radiused cutting edge hollow ground to reduce drag. The advantage to the radius is that the whole blade edge isn’t engaging the object to be sliced at the same time allowing for even less drag, yet still making a continuous cut with no “saw marking”.

The other plus to the radius design on the blade is that when you make a draw cut (pull the blade toward you) the physiology of your arm causes your elbow to lift up, causing you to change the angle of attack of the blade. On a straight traditional slicer you either end up cutting with the very tip of the blade or break your wrist to allow the blade to remain flat, reducing your leverage. The radius blade allows you to maintain maximum leverage by not having to break your wrist while the cutting edge still tracks parallel to the food.

Has anyone gotten the emailed offer yet? I've been waiting since yesterday and haven't gotten one. Don't want to miss the sale.

It took like 2 hours after signing up to get the coupon. Went back to read the fine print. It's like BB&B coupons.

"Offer cannot be used for the purchase of La Cornue Stoves, Le Creuset, Shun, Wüsthof, Miele, Breville, Vitamix, Fissler, Bamix, Baccarat, Polyscience, Beaba, Mauviel, Saeco, KitchenAid Pro Line, ScanPan, Kalamazoo, Swiss Diamond, Raynaud, Bernardaud, Pickard, Royal Copenhagen, Haviland, Wedgewood, Waterford, Lynx, Natures Way, Memphis Pro, The Orange Chef Co. and Sale products. Employees are not eligible for this offer. "

Can't be used with wusthof:(

I actually bought the 6 piece Wusthoff BBQ Set and a Wusthoff classic honing steel. The code gave me free shipping and $7.49 off of the honing steel.

I guess they pick which one gets the 15% off.

Not bad. Total savings: 47%.

Thanks Terry!

Figures I find this post today. I've been looking at slicing knives for quite a while now and finally pulled the trigger last week on the 14" Victorinox and sleeve from Amazon. It is a great knife, but if I saw this deal last week I might have bought the Wusthof.
