This was really good, but waaaaaaaaaaaay more than I could eat, I maybe made it about 2/3's of the way. I actually baked bread on the Weber Kettle, never did that before. Anyway, here is my take on a big farkin' meatball sandwich:
This was the majority of the ingredients along with some Italian sausage and ground beef;
Diced up the vegies and saute'd those;
Added in the garlic and the Pesto;
Once this cooled down, mixed all the meatball ingredients together;
Put that in the fridge while I worked on the rest. I had some dough left from this cook; http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/showthread.php?t=210430, so I infused some Italian herbs and sharp cheddar;
Dressed this up and onto the Kettle;
After 20 minutes;
Good thing I checked on it, any longer and it would have been toast(pun intended :shock. And a shot of inside, you can see the herbs and cheese;
Made up the meatballs and lined them up in my new basket;
On to the Kettle;
Saute'd up some shrooms for the sandwich;
The meatballs coming along nicely;
And now the assembly;
Split the bread and spread on some garlic butter, and in the oven for a few minutes;
some Marinara;
Some Provolone;
Pepperoni;
Shrooms;
Meatballs;
Mozzarella;
Some Parmesan and in the oven again;
Some peppers and parsley;
A little more sauce;
Close it up;
A couple of plate shots;
And I loved it very tasty, and very filling.
