Default BBQ in 'Bama

I'm leaving Friday morning for a roadtrip to Luverne, Alabama for my wife's aunts' 80th b-day party. While she is all fired up over attending the "World's largest Peanut Boil Festival", I'm more interested in sampling some of the local BBQ fare.

Any suggestions?

Guppie (Boiled peanuts? Never heard of such a thing.)

First off, boiled peanuts are great!!!!
Acquired taste, but great.
Roadside vendors all along the highways here selling them.

I can't help you with Que joints around Luverne or Troy.
If you are up for a 60 mile run--Webb's 231 BBQ between Dothan and Ozark on Hwy 231 is "as good as it gets". Best commercial BBQ I have ever eaten.

I am driving by there today and will take a pic if I remember.

I will even meet ya there and buy lunch if you want and we can work a schedule

If you can find a place, check out anything with the Alabama White Barbeque Sauces. Truly interesting.

Now, this is a Que Joint!!!!!!!!!!
Webb's 231 BBQ located just south of mile marker 32 on Hey 231.
10 miles south of Ozark Al.

BBQ is as good as it gets for a commercial joint.
