Probably depends on whether you are going to be using lump or briquettes,
more ash with Briquettes.

I bought some 3/8 rebarb last night, to make some different stands for the basket. I might go work on that soon. BTW, I have a welder, but it doesn't mean I can weld.. They will hold, but they are not the prettiest welds. Yes, thank you Chris, I hope to actually start attaching hardware to them here real soon. Thanks again.

Ok, got the other legs cut off. Ugly welds or not, they held pretty good. Anyways I bent up some 3/8 rebarb and made 3 legs that I set at 2 & 3/4" from the bottom of the charcoal grate.
