Hello, my name is Rick and I thank you all for letting me in the Forums.
I got my start BBQing for friends and family. Started believing everyone who said mine was "the best" BBQ they ever ate and without knowing what it was all about, entered a local competition. Let's just say the judges were not nearly as impressed with my BBQ than were my friends and neighbors:shock: Out 44 teams I placed 6th in Chicken and no better than 28th in anything else.
So, I have a lot to learn.
My toys are:
Trager Texas
WSM 22"
UDS
2 Galvanized Trash Cans (really)
And the typical 4 burner gasser in the back yard.
I have my eye on a Vertical Insulated Smoker (gladly accepting recommendations) and will add a Santa Maria Style cooker to my arsenal very soon.
