Default Acurite Digital Instant read thermo?

I found this Acurite Digital Instant Read folding probe thermo Sunday at Academy Sports for $9.95. Too good of a price to pass up. I have not had time to use it yet but was wondering if anyone else has used one and has any input. For the price if it is decent I would probably go pick up a couple more for extras.

I bought one at Wally World, tested in boiling water and read correctly. The response time is much better than the therms I have used in the past. It's OK IMHO.

If it had the response time and as accurate as this i would get it just because it folds up...If it meets that criteria you can't beat the price.

I bought the same one at Wally World, too. I used it a lot this weekend cooking two butts, and I always got good readings in less than 10 seconds I would say. I didn't use a stopwatch to time it or anything, but I was very happy with it. The only thing that I found a little frustrating was that the F/C button is easy to accidentally hit. But, that is my only gripe and I was VERY happy using it overall. I couldn't justify the almost $100 on a Thermapen, but less than $10 for this one was easily justifiable.

Looks like someone copied the thermopen design. 10 bucks, you say?

I think I will pick one up. If it fails me, it can join the can of spam at the Bash.

Man don't think mine has it yet I'll check ina a few days, I have several acurite therms and they all seem accurate. One's display will get alittle flakey sometimes, but it's always accurate
